Cell
Phones
Do you remember a time when the word
cell phone didn't mean anything to people? When if you spoke
about making a phone call out in the middle of nowhere, people
would first reason that you needed a phone booth or to find a
building with a phone in it. Today, the cell phone technology
is in full swing and everybody, even children, have cellular
phones in their possession.
The cell phone is more and more becoming
synonymous with mobile computer. Mobile phones are becoming as
powerful as our laptop computers,
and fit in our pockets! People are even working from them now.
Just ten years ago the mobile internet was cheesy and too
cumbersome to do anything on, especially work on articles for a
content provider company or even email. Today,
however, cell
phones come with full web
browsers in full color. What you see on your home computer
shows up on your iPhone picture for
picture.
The cell
phone plan has also evolved in it's lifetime. Their used
to only be one plan available for all cell phones, but due to the
advancements in technologies and the highly competitive markets
surrounding cell phones, there are different plans for each
company. Many cell phones are created specifically for a
company's plan matrix. These phones can only be used with the
company plan that makes the phone, but people are starting
to "unlock" these phones so they can use them with any service.
The cell phone companies, figuring they can't beat the market,
and joined them- offering now unlocked phones straight from the
manufacturer.
Plans have
also come out for seniors to go with easy to use non
technological phones, as well as plans and
cell
phones for smaller children that
limit their use to only calling their parents or 911, or
a small and programmable list of family members. Cell
phones have become a major part of everyone's life
keeping us connected to those that matter to us. The cell
phone continues to evolve. Every year we wait for the
next new feature or concept that will further integrate
the cell phone into our lives
seamlessly!
